About the Artist
Dennis is a long time resident of Philadelphia (Rittenhouse) and former public school art teacher in Philadelphia, its suburbs, New York State and East St. Louis, IL. Dr. Taylor was a professor of art education in Illinois and New Zealand. His research and specialization is adaptive and inclusive art education for students experiencing disabilities.
Taylor’s visual art production is largely painting. He works extensively with acrylic media so that his pets can safely be in the studio and also in consideration of the environment. Dennis’ work is largely representational and has themes of the housed and unhoused, the natural environment , the urban landscape, and city folks. In his seventh decade Dr. Taylor happily pursues an active studio life on a near daily basis. Dennis holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Syracuse University with specializations in visual arts, inclusion and adaptive instruction.
